As a Sr. Controls Embedded Software Engineer at PT Tech and TCP, part of the Timken Company, you will provide custom designed specialized solutions for the aggregate, marine, metal and steel, mining, wood waste recycling and material processing industries. Located in Sharon Center, Ohio a short distance from Timken Corporate Headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to program with Visual C#.net and Labview is a plus but not required
- Responsible for C Programming of microprocessor-based devices
- Interfaces with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers on projects for which are assigned
- Understands the operation of hydraulics and mechanical interfaces as they relate to Electronic Controls
- Performs design development and analysis of a more complex nature including development of new controller functionality as it relates to integration with existing products and future "smart" products
- Interfaces with customers on an engineering technical level and supports Sales and Service with technical knowledge and troubleshooting guidance
- Ability to travel internationally with short notice
- Estimated travel may be required approximately once per month or less
- Conducts R&D Field Testing and visits to customer field sites in support of the products in his/her area of responsibility
- Develops Test Plans, conducts In-house testing, participates in approval of test plans, and reviews test results in coordination with the Testing Department
- May assist the Project Engineer with the development of Installation & Maintenance Bulletins (I&M Bulletins) and Design Manuals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software, or controls engineering.
- Experience with a complete life cycle of an embedded software system.
- Proficient in C and C++.
- Embedded firmware development and maintenance
- Good communication skills and the ability to project manage.
- High-level writing and documentation skills.
- Altium design Software experience
