Accommodating Qualified Individuals with Disabilities
The company does not discriminate against applicants or employees with disabilities, against applicants or employees who are associated with a disabled person (e.g., an applicant’s child, parent, ward, etc.) or against applicants or employees, regardless of sex, who are caregivers of a disabled person.
In furtherance of the company’s conviction that all qualified individuals are entitled to the opportunity for equal employment opportunity, any applicant or employee who believes he or she needs an accommodation because of a physical or mental disability should request such accommodation(s), if able to in writing, from the human resources department.
In connection with your request, representatives of the human resources department will meet with you to discuss your functional limitations and how to address such limitations to allow you to perform your job duties. As part of this process, human resources representatives may ask you to provide documentation as to the underlying condition and specific limitations from your health care provider. The ultimate goal of this meeting and process is to allow human resources to assess your request for reasonable accommodation of your disability (i.e., adjustments or assistance to allow you to perform your essential job functions).
If you have further questions about this policy or if you believe you have experienced disability discrimination, contact the human resources manager as soon as possible or contact the Timken HelpLine at (800) 846-5363 or 1-888-732-1439 or via email by logging onto www.timkenhelpline.com. To the extent possible, all such inquiries will be treated confidentially.
