At Standard Machine we design and manufacture high-quality parts for critical industries including pulp and paper, mining, oil and gas, chemical processing plants, steel mills, marine applications, transportation, military, and aerospace.

Reporting to the Controller, we are seeking a Receptionist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary Duties
    • Answer phones and transfer to appropriate company contact
    • Greet visitors, clients, and contractors including screening for approved access
    • Company billing, including creating invoice, reviewing for accuracy and sending to client in their required format
    • Manage incoming and outgoing mail
    • Monitor and order company office supplies, including coffee
    • Scan and file job travelers
    • Back-up for shipping/receiving gate entry
    • Manage photocopier, including meter reads, supplies, and troubleshooting
    • Order lunches for shop gatherings and office meetings
    • Assist with operations administration as needed
    • Vacation coverage for Accounting Tech
    • Additional duties, assigned by the Controller

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate possesses the following education and competencies.

Education

  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years industry experience
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset

Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills including conflict resolution
  • Deadline-oriented and strong attention to detail
  • Accurate data entry, review and check own work
  • Strong organizational and project planning ability
  • Software: MS Office suite, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Epicor
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
