Timken Gears and Services Philadelphia Gear brand is seeking a Customer Service Manager for the Santa Fe Springs regional service center. Under the supervision and reporting to the General Manager, the Customer Service Manager will provide leadership for the customer service team in achieving its goal of supporting all customer-related activities related to in-house orders as assigned.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the customer service department.
  • Generating quotes and ensuring that customer commercial terms and conditions and quality requirements are properly recorded in order entry information and that the service center meets those requirements.
  • Gather and record cost information from historical data, supplier quotes, and internal manufacturing resources for the accurate preparation of cost estimates and application of appropriate margins to quotes.
  • Ensure consistent cross regional pricing is applied to quotes using history.
  • Assist sales team in developing product quotations for in-house and onsite repairs.
  • Assure timely response to all customer needs and requests. Plan for on-time delivery.
  • Perform necessary customer presentations during customer visits to facility as required.
  • Assist order entry to assure proper information entered into system.
  • Assigned jobs will include project management of breakdowns, technically complex work, and large high dollar orders.
  • Review of contracts for accuracy and entering orders
  • Inside liaison between sales and operations.
  • Provide input to purchasing and suppliers.
  • Interface/support Customer Service for estimating and status updates as required.
  • Function in a teamwork atmosphere for all endeavors.
  • Generate order progress reports as requested by customer.
  • Provide technical support for subcontracted operations at vendors. 
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of reports and data packages etc.
  • Plan, buy, source, and expedite service & materials required in support of shop operations and quotations requirements.

 

Key Attributes:

Key attributes include the ability to multi-task, set priorities, meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to work as part of a team. Excellent computer skills (profiecient in Microsoft Office software), strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

 

Applicant must have 10+ years of experience in the areas of engineering, technical, business or manufacturing and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
