Purpose

This position performs maintenance work requests, equipment breakdowns and planned maintenance activities not handled by the equipment operators. Provides support for changes to existing equipment or introduction of new equipment. Carries out a pre-planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule on all key assets and equipment. Executes the tasks defined in the Maintenance Department to ensure that there is minimal downtime, either through planned preventive maintenance or through the effective use of resources so that unscheduled breakdowns have minimal disruption to operations.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain a system to carry out preventative and predictive planned maintenance on all key assets, including diagnostic tools, tests and assessments.  
  • Identify and maintain a Maintenance stores system for all key machine/equipment spares and consumables.
  • Perform electrical/electronic fault finding on CNCs and PLCs down to module level using instruments Computer and other diagnostic equipment, perform pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical fault finding to component or device level.
  • Team Participation: routine involvement with a variety of plant teams focused on continuous improvement. Occasionally serve as facilitator of such teams. 
  • Set up and operate machine tools (lathes, grinders, mills, drill presses, etc.) to repair and/or fabricate parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.  
  • When properly trained, may run production equipment when required to assist in the timely completion of production schedules.
  • Participate in the analysis of 5C or problem solving and focus in the continues improvement of each equipment of the facility.
  • Use the safety equipment correctly to remove residual energy (LOTO system) in preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Use the escalation system correctly when the failure time is exceeded for any type of mechanical/electrical failure

 

Bachelor´s Degree: 

Technician or Bachelor Degree
