Purpose

The Master Engineering Technician is responsible for leading the plant’s data quality management to ensure the quality and integrity of critical SAP and ASB plant data is maintained per established business rules.  Their other primary responsibility is leading the Material Deployment process to ensure new and existing materials with product or process changes are deployed correctly and all location specific data is completed accurately to ensure timely delivery of products that meet all corporate and customer requirements.  This includes the creation, maintenance and problem-solving of manufacturing BOMs, routings and production versions.  This position works closely with the manufacturing engineering, mfg. systems, new product team, planning and scheduling, and the plant controller to achieve these goals.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  •  Completing Deployments – Responsible for creating, loading, maintaining and changing BOM, Routings and Production Versions to ensure flow of new and existing parts with product or process changes.  This includes regular troubleshooting and problem-solving to resolve errors/issues.
  • Lead ASB Work Flow Completion – Responsible for all workflows and ensuring the team is responsive in completing all necessary steps from loading raw material to final costing to meet customer requirements.  This includes the responsibility of continuously improving our work flow management process to make it streamlined and efficient.
  • Maintaining ASB Revision Control – Responsible for maintaining revision control for all ASB systems data to ensure that it is always current with all finish product data and instructions from corporate systems and utilized by ASB systems to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Data Governance – Manages the plants master data governance program ensuring periodic reviews are being completed to maintain high data accuracy and quality of plant data.  This includes problem-solving to resolve data errors and prevent them from happening in the future.
  • Special CI Projects – Completing ASB Service Requests, Quality CARS, Connex, DIVA, etc

 

Technical/Functional Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of ASB manufacturing processes, capabilities and products with minimum of 5 yrs. Experience.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Excellent Communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills preferred  
  • Experience with SAP preferred

 

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or Equiv) Required.
  • Associate Degree with Technical Major (Maching Technology, etc.) Preferred
  • 5-10 Years Experience in Timken Asheboro Plant (or similar) with detailed knowledge of bearing operations.
