Smith Services, a part of Timken Power Systems, is seeking a Field Services Technician for the Princeton service center.

 

Field Service Technicians are on call 24 hours a day and travel frequently to customer sites. Outage work often requires extended stays away from home. Some of the job tasks performed by technicians are vibration analysis, balancing, laser alignment, electrical testing, infrared thermography, switchgear testing and maintenance, dry ice cleaning, and mechanical and electrical motor repairs.

Candidates with experience in controls, VFD’s, MCC’s, PLC’s, HMI’s, Relays, and Transformers are preferred. 

This position will also be responsible for job scheduling, cost builds, inputing information in ERP (Epicor), documenting and maintaining certifications, safety reports, and training records. Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • AS in Electrical Engineering, strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain NON-DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
  • Ability to obtain Mine Safety Certification (below and above ground) and OSHA Certification.
  • 3+ years of related experience, strongly preferred.
