Rail Service Technician

The Rail Service Technician role: 
1.    Performs an inspection of wheelsets with mounted bearings, takes measurements and collects related infor-mation about wheelsets and bearings performance prior to taken inspection;
2.    Performs a tear down inspection of rail bearings in Timken service center or at customer side if necessary;
3.    Participates in investigation commissions around the assigned regions (mostly in Far East and East Siberia) called by rail customers, end users and/or rail authorities, represents Timken-Rus Service Company there;
4.    Applies knowledge of the bearing product, bogie and car design, operational conditions and regulation to the best possible understanding of root cause of each field incident or issue;
5.    Follows Timken rules and locally established corporate procedure while investigation, coordinates own actions and decisions with Service Engineer Team leader;
6.    Takes formal and legal responsibility by signing an investigation protocol; 
7.    Performs damage analysis together with Service Engineering team;
8.    Provides reports on performed activities according to established procedure;
9.    Supports logistics and record matters related to keeping and transporting spare and rejected bearings
10.  Uploads the information collected and maintains the database updated with use of personal IT device (laptop or tablet) provided by the company. 

Requirements:
          Technical – mechanical education (university degree will be an advantage);
        Experience in the area of mechanics (design, manufacturing, maintenance);
      Experience in RZD as an advantage;
      Good communication skills;
      Resourceful for problem solving;
      Good fault finding;
      Planning and good time management;
      Resilient;
      Available for traveling 2/3 of her / his working time for business purposes;
      Flexible, Organized;
          English language skills as an advantage;
          Good computer operating skills in basic MSOffice programs.
