Purpose and Scope
This position exists as indirect support of the production, inspection and shipment of product from the New Philadelphia Bearing Plant. It is accountable for the availability of tooling and hardstock as well as tightness of product and shipping.
Responsibilities
- Accurate recipt and location of incoming materials
- Systematic supply of stock to kanban assignments
- Timely notification of material overages and shortages
- Accurate recipt and location of all tooling
- Tooling delivery, pickup and inspection
- Issuance of correct tooling and grind supplies to machine operators
- Visual inspection of product prior to packaging
- Timely packing and shipping of product according to customer specifications
- Accuracy of product transactions
- Safety and attention to detail to prevent injury to self and others
- External processing of purchase orders
- Material review board (MRB) review of return shipments
Technical/Functional Skills Required
- Aptitude for basic shop floor math
- Basic computer skills
- Clerical accuracy in performing simple and technical reporting
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated team player
- Good organizational skills
Preferred Technical/Functional Skills (for potential precision grinding)
- Demonstrated mechanical ability
- Experience or aptitude for reading gauges
- Problem solving
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma and 2 or more years' relevant experience (5 or more years preferred)
- Grinding/machining education and/or 2 years' of precision grinding experience (highly preferred)
