Position Summary:
The MRO Purchaser is responsible for procuring maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials and supplies to support a bearing manufacturing facility. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials by reviewing requisitions, comparing vendor bids, and placing purchase orders. The MRO Purchaser monitors inventory levels, tracks order status, and works closely with suppliers to expedite deliveries and resolve issues. Additionally, this position maintains accurate purchasing records in SYSPRO, ensures compliance with safety policies, and supports accounts payable with invoice reconciliation. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential to ensure efficient purchasing operations and uninterrupted production support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review requisition orders to ensure accuracy, appropriate terminology, and correct specifications.
- Evaluate supplier bids by comparing prices, product specifications, and delivery timelines to select the best option.
- Generate and issue purchase orders to vendors in alignment with procurement needs.
- Monitor inventory levels for key supply items, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Address supplier inquiries regarding order status, modifications, or cancellations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to schedule and expedite deliveries, resolving any delays, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Maintain and update purchasing records, reports, and price lists for accuracy and reference.
- Track requisitions, contracts, and order statuses, ensuring SYSPRO data remains current.
- Verify and validate pricing on purchase orders to align with supplier agreements.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments to confirm accuracy against purchase orders.
- Identify and resolve any defects, damages, or discrepancies in received materials or equipment.
- Submit purchase orders, requisitions, and receiving documents to Corporate for invoice matching, assisting Accounts Payable as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding procurement and delivery schedules.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Adhere to company safety policies, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Demonstrate professionalism and respect in all interactions while maintaining confidentiality of company and employee information.
- Request item master setup and codes for new items from Corporate as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
