The Production Supervisor on 2nd shift is responsible for supervising employees in a lean manufacturing environment. They will coach, assist, and coordinate the production efforts necessary to deliver quality products in a safe and efficient manner to meet the production schedule. This position serves as a crucial link between operative employees and management. 

 

This position will supervise a team that works 2nd shift hours Monday - Friday from 3:30pm - 12:00am and an occasional Saturday.

 

Production Supervisor Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the production, manning and day to day manufacturing operations to achieve production goals.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work area and adhere to the company quality and environmental policies.
  • Work closely with employees to ensure the policy and procedures are being followed.
  • Train, counsel and manage hourly employee performance.
  • Foster a positive and respectful environment and resolve conflict as needed.
  • Identify, support, and/or manage continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Production Supervisor Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong communication skills and people oriented.
  • Able to handle multiple competing tasks and priorities and perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision scheduling employees in a production environment.  
  • Takes a proactive approach in anticipating, identifying, and solving problems and makes necessary changes so problems do not occur in the future.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.  An Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or similar preferred.
