Responsible for ensuring product and process criteria are developed and implemented, which ensure consistent product quality from all sources.  Responsible for the development and effective implementation of the quality system at the Fort Scott Plant.  The position is responsible for ensuring that incoming materials, design and manufacturing processes, and finished product quality levels are maintained at a level which ensures acceptable business results are achieved while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Manage & provide the necessary engineering required for the sustained operation of the plant, including services and manufacturing equipment
  • Staff and supervise the engineering and maintenance departments within the company’s guidelines
  • Prepare the capital budget and effectively manage projects including establishing detailed and defined scopes, detailed cost estimates, timelines with milestones, and deliverables
  • Provide engineering review of plant projects
  • Administer safety and environmental programs
  • Recommend and assist with programs and changes that promote the company’s philosophy for a safe workplace
  • Provide training and development to maintenance employees to insure proper operation of assets which will promote safe working conditions, increased efficiency, and quality products.
  • Data collection, analysis, gauge R&Rs, and quality control
  • Track and maintain safety, environmental, and maintenance metrics
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools where applicable, such as process improvements and scrap reduction.
  • Provide a leadership role in applying new technologies to the manufacturing process
  • Arrange for outside contractors to carry out specific project assignments to meet schedules without excessive costs
  • Provide a leadership role in applying new technologies to the manufacturing process


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering 
  • 5 + years on PLC programming, motion control, machine design
  • 1-3 years of safety and/or enviornmental experience
  • Microsoft Office suite
