Purpose and Scope:

Based out of QC, this role will provide Sales & Managerial support to a multiple Provincial territory in Eastern Canada.  The successful candidate must be bilingual French and English both verbally and in written format. 

 

This position directs all activities of a regional sales team to attain annual sales and profit goals for the territory. The RM is responsible for developing and executing annual business plans and developing and managing customer relationships within the region and represents the company in all aspects of business management. The RM manages the regional Sales staff / Sales Engineer(s)(approximately 3-5 people), including setting regional goals and Focus Plan goals, TMP administration, assigns accounts, develops Regional Call Plans, coaches and mentors associates, and meets S&A budget targets. The RM / Acct Mgr is part of the Sales leadership team that participates in managing national and cross-region initiatives, the Sales talent pipeline and succession planning for the sales force. This position also directs and manages all front-end activities for a major account, with responsibility for developing and maintaining excellent relationships at all levels between the customer and Timken.

 

Position Description:                                                                                                   

  1. Talent Development: Develops, mentors and retains high performing direct reports (Sales Engineers). Applies skills in coaching, training and TMP administration to develop talent and drive performance across the regional team.
  2. Customer Relationship Management: Develops, manages, and grows intimate, customer-centric relationships with customers across the region. The RM leverages full mastery of the sales engineer role and models the required technical and commercial competencies required to build strong customer relationships.
  3. Business Plan Execution: Creates and executes a robust business plan each year.
  4. New Business Development: Identifies, develops and executes new business development strategies and tactics. Creates and maintains a rolling 5-year Strategic Roadmap to grow business profitability within the region.

Technical/Functional Skills          

  • Leadership of a team of approximately 4 direct reports
  • Expertise in Microsoft suite including Excel, Word and Excel
  • Business industry knowledge of channels and competitors
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills including conflict resolution
  • Working knowledge of products and their applications
  • Bilingual (French and English) required

Major or Area of Study

Bachelor Degree (preferred)

Business or Engineering related

 

Previous Job Experience:

Combined minimum of 12 years’ experience inclusive of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technologist with progressive responsibility including the following:

  • Industrial Direct Sales (5-7 Years OEM and Distribution)
  • Positive leadership/supervision of a professional team
  • Project management
