The Program/Product Manager for the auger product group will be responsible for development and profitable growth of the auger product line. This person will be responsible for managing the start-to-finish process of strategy, tactics and profitability for the auger product group ensuring long-term growth and overall competitiveness of the product to the OE and aftermarket business units.

 

This person will lead auger projects for new and existing customers. This will include the review of the current product portfolio, full review of new project bids, review of all job packets associated with the opportunity, and full cost analysis of each layer and component of the project. The candidate will be responsible for the overall profitability of the product line.  This will include working with purchasing and outside vendor contacts in order to perform full-level cost reviews during each step of the process. Overall product vitality and revenue growth will also be a main area of focus for this position.

 

Additionally, this will be a customer-facing role as the Program/Product Manager for augers will be the face of the organization in terms of representing Timken and the product portfolio for large opportunities and current customer requests.

 

The Program/Product Manager for Augers will also be responsible for new product development, review

of additional product markets, lifecycle management of the products and cost and asset management. This role will have oversight of the product engineering team at the auger plant and will work with planning and manufacturing leads in evaluation of the production process.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Owning the overall profitability and growth of the business unit.
  • Competitive Benchmarking (Product, footprint, cost structure, price analytics, channels to market, installed base).
  • Life Cycle analytics – time studies and plant planning.
  • Footprint Strategy (interface with manufacturing advancement and supply chain.
  • Channels to market - OE and aftermarket
  • Cross-functional business planning alignment for priority projects.
  • Lead execution of product vitality tactics to better grow the business through process improvements.
  • New product launch definition, technology road mapping, testing, competitive benchmarking, execution and commercialization.
  • Growth initiatives related to promotion, inventory, structural cost reduction efforts, etc. 
  • Project timeline management.
  • Manage auger bid process from start to final bid presentation. This includes BOM management and managing of bid package costing.
  • Manage by influence across the organization engaging others in cross-functional business planning and sales tactic execution both inside Timken Drives and Timken Corporation.
  • No direct reports. 

 

Technical/ Functional Skills:

  • High level of product, market and application knowledge.
  • Demonstrated understanding of auger BOM, routing and pricing
  • Full understanding of Auger manufacturing process including internal and external routes and sourcing.
  • Results-oriented and strategic-thinking capabilities.  
  • Ability to influence without formal authority.   
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.   
  • Spanish as second language preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel.

 

Education/ Experience:  Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, or related degree.  Plus, 5 years of technical and auger knowledge.  Master's degree preferred.  Plus, desired technical and auger knowledge.
