Purpose and Scope

The Senior Heat Treat Process Analyst is responsible for leading the testing and reporting of various technical implementation projects which ultimately improve the heat treat process. He/she will also be responsible for the development, analysis, implementation, and support of heat treat training programs. They will take a lead role in conducting/coordinating testing and training activities pertaining to the associates, processes, and quality of products in their area. The Senior Analyst has more than a fundamental knowledge of the complex principles and processes of the heat treating business. He/she has mastered this specialty and regularly successfully applies this knowledge to the completion of projects. The Senior Analyst is recognized as an expert in their specialty and, as such, is recognized by others.

Responsibilities

Lead, design, and follow through on various technology implementation projects and testing programs. Use mastery of specialized training and knowledge of heat treat processes and equipment to coordinate, design, teach, and develop training and certification programs for departmental associates. Provide accurate and timely reports, which track the departments progress on a regular basis. Co-ordinate and participate in QS and ISO programs. Being able to answer and speak knowledgeably on all aspects of the heat treat process, especially during outside audits. Initiate and lead various problem-solving teams, such as 8Ds. Use of specialized knowledge and experience to deal with day-to-day technical problems and/or emergency product flow problems.

 

Technical/Functional Skills

  • Root cause problem solving
  • Statistical data analysis

Education

  • Preferred-Bachelor or Master of Metallurgy/Material Science 

 

Previous Job Experience

  • 5 years Heat Treat experience on floor and lab 
  • Previous experience as a process analyst
