Job Description:

Ensure quality system requirements are met and product meets customer requirements.  Assist members of the production team with set-up, inspection and print requirements for each production job.  Ensure correct documentation is completed verifying conformance to quality requirements.  Part of the Help Chain quality concerns, questions and accept /reject decisions.  Has the authority to stop production or shipments and place product “On Hold” until a member of the Quality Assurance Department performs final disposition.

 

           Gauge Set-Up:

  • Responsible for checking and setting-up the necessary masters, gauges and pins used for production set-ups. 
  • Responsible for checking and making masters.
  • Must understand basic calibration requirements. 
  • Read and understand prints and tables, as well as ISO procedures and Corporate quality standards. 
  • Knowledgeable of work centers and which measurement requirements are needed. 
  • Assist/perform inspection on product in Production Machining, Heat Treat, and Roll Cell when required. 
  • Maintain accurate records and daily activity logs. 
  • Work with little or no supervision.

           In-Process Inspection Audit:

  • Perform in-process audits of bearing parts, if needed.
  • Verify operators are recording proper inspection documentation and part quality is acceptable.  
  • Spot check operator measurements if part quality is in question.
  • Answer questions regarding product quality, measurement methods or gauging devices. 
  • Inspect product on the Hommel, Talley Surf, CPG and RCF measurement devices.
  • Proficient in using a variety of precision measurement instruments. 
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and daily activity logs. 
  • Work with little or no supervision. 
  • Trouble-shoot quality problems during set-up & production, and assist operators with in-process inspections, as needed.

           Incoming Inspection Audit: 

  • Inspect quality of incoming components, where applicable.
  • Knowledgeable about component requirements for dimensional, visual standards, preservation, packaging and labeling.    
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and daily activity logs. 
  • Work with little or no supervision. 
  • Work in other areas of in-process inspection & gauge set–up, and assist in other inspection or quality areas.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Capable of accurately reading and interpreting detail & assembly prints, ISO work instructions and Corporate Quality Standards.
  2. Understand basic metrology and know how to access necessary Quality documents for each production job.
  3. Ability to accurately measure parts with various types of manual precision gaging.
  4. Ability to operate electronic measurement devices including the RCF, CPG, and Surface Finish gauges.
  5. Knowledgeable on quality system requirements.
  6. Some heavy work involved with lifting and moving large bearing components.
  7. Must be willing to work any shift and work overtime.
