Position Summary:  The sales representative will manage the relationship between Timken and a defined group of Diamond-Drives & Belts customers. Define and execute field tactics and action plans that are consistent with our business and marketing strategies and which will result in achievement of our sales and profit objectives. Apply a consultative selling methodology to establish products provider who assists customers in meeting their own business objectives. Leverage relationships with these accounts to grow sales and market penetration.


Essential Job Duties: 

  • Maintain relationships with appropriate customer base. These relationships are critical in defending existing business and gaining access to competitor business.
  • Manage customers, including: - Setting annual purchase targets - Committing with customer to specific action plans - Document all customer accounts, business potential, buying habits and define strategy for profit growth
  • Provide training support to customers in areas of basic technical product knowledge, general good maintenance practices and product installation, in conjunction with Service Engineers.
  • Development and maintenance of records pertaining to customer companies, relationships, business plans, tracking and measurement of agreed objectives, incentives and supporting action plans. Communicate effectively to Timken organization regarding internal requirements to meet agreed targets and ensure engagement of internal teams/colleagues.


Technical/ Functional Skills:  

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate a solid background knowledge of products and service together with a proven history of sales results.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Proven experience in generation of new opportunities and building a solid customer base.
  • The candidate must possess the ability to manager relationships with customers.


Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree required.  Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in an industrial field required.
