Purpose & Scope

This position exists to ensure that all products finished ground, assembled, and shipped from the New Philadelphia Bearing plant meet customer expectations for performance.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Proper set-up of grinding cell(s) including all adjustments necessary, either manual or programmed, to grind product to specifications
  2. Manually load work pieces to and from shoes, chuck, etc.
  3. Transport tooling, equipment, and materials to and from work areas, as required
  4. Ensure accuracy of visual checks for surface defects and dimensional conformance to specifications
  5. Measure, pack, and/or ship completed product when necessary
  6. Ensure accuracy of production transactions
  7. Take corrective action as necessary to ensure continuous production of quality product
  8. Adhere to all safety standards       

 

Technical/Functional Skills Required:

  • Strong reading, comprehension, and attention-to-detail 
  • Solid communication, teamwork, and organization 
  • Demonstrated mechanical 
  • Problem-solving 
  • Advanced shop math 
  • Aptitude for reading gauges
  • Basic computer skills, including web page navigation

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of precision grinding/machining experience (5 or more years preferred)
