Location: Timken, American Roller Bearing, Hiddenite, NC.

Job Type: Full-Time.

Shift: Day Shift.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM.

Position Summary:

The Team Leader will oversee and coordinate daily operations within the Machine Shop Department, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards will be consistently met. This role requires strong leadership abilities, technical, expertise in manufacturing processes, and an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives instructions and directions from the Machine Shop Manager.
  • Lead a team of production employees, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure employees perform at their best.
  • Effectively perform the 5C process. Escalate up the chain to the next level management for production, quality, and safety triggers through means of written communication.
  • Promotes a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement (learning).
  • Effectively work with manufacturing vendors for machining supplies. Includes obtaining quotes and filling out requisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, quality assurance standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • In the absence of the Department Manager, the team leader plays a crucial role in ensuring continuity, efficiency, and effective management within the department.
  • Effectively use SYSPRO for creating routes, making shop travelers, printing labels, and assembling Machine Shop job packets. Involves understanding the software’s functionalities and applying them effectively.
  • Operating equipment when necessary, and as time permits.
  • Will learn Mazatrol & G-Code programming for each area in the Machine Shop.
  • Receiving & sending out of Raw material.
  • Help maintain an accurate inventory of Raw material.
  • Use and create Excel and Microsoft Word documents.
  • Data transfer for Gibbs Cam & Mazacam programming.
  • Backup Gibbs Cam programming is possible.
  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by Department Manager.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US. 
  • Must be willing to work required overtime. 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and manage time efficiently.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and quality assurance standards
  • Well-rounded knowledge of Machining and the manufacturing processes.
  • Basic to good knowledge of computers and shop floor computer systems.

 

Required Personal Protective Equipment:

All associates are required to wear protective eyewear, hearing protection, and slip resistant, steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor.
