Qualification & Experience: 4-10 years in relevant manufacturing with engineering degree or Diploma qualification preferred

On Job Travel: This role requires frequent travel, at least 50% of the time

Location: Bangalore   

Relocation: Candidates must be willing to relocate during their tenure in Timken.

 

Job Description (Summary):

  • Technical expertise: Experience or knowledge manufacturing process like Casting, Forging, Machining, Stamping commodity. Familiarity with metrology equipment and inspection techniques is essential.
  • Supplier Assessment and onboarding: Evaluating and developing new and existing suppliers to meet product, quality, and capacity requirements, ensuring compliance with standards - IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Supplier Development and monitoring: Work closely with suppliers and ensure Timken corporate standard and quality requirements are implemented and adhered.
  • Technical Support: Acting as a technical coach for suppliers on quality and manufacturing processes, driving improvements in these areas.
  • Quality Assurance: Managing supplier quality agreements, KPIs, and conducting audits to ensure supplier compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilizing Lean methodologies, SPC, Capability Studies, and AIAG core tools to drive process improvements and problem-solving.
  • Project Management: Leading initiatives related to APQP, PPAP, VA/VE, and NPD, including conducting First Article Inspections and ensuring suppliers meet all quality requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate efficiently and directly with customer’s/suppliers management
  • Hands on approach in supplier management
