Responsibilities:
- To create and maintain engineering information for various manufacturing processes (process cards, in-process prints, work instructions, etc.)
- Assist operations personnel with daily process & product problem solving. Strive to identify and correct the root cause of such problems instead of continuing to address the reoccurring issue. Assist other Timken plants/businesses as requested by your manager.
- To participate and manage process improvement projects. Identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities for the improvement of quality, throughput, machine efficiency, labor productivity, cost, etc. Utilize fact based analysis, data mining, and lean-6-sigma skills to achieve this. Note: project work also includes the specification, selection, run-off, installation, and introduction of new processes &equipment.Measure projects to assure effectiveness during and after completion. Provide corrective action plans if projects are failing to perform as expected.
4. Assure manufacturing and engineering processes are documented and understood to provide standard and consistent application
of work methods and procedures (e.g. maintain engineering data systems, operating manuals, training material, PM procedures, and engineering procedures).
5. Interact with operations and quality department to assure conformance to all ISO requirements. Assure all processes being performed are within Timken and governmental policies, specifications, regulations, and laws. Keep company product and process information confidential and secure.
6. Complete other tasks assigned by Manager.
Qualification:
- Bachelor degree or above in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or similar.
- Good at oral and written English and Chinese, familiar with UG, Auto CAD and other general software.
- Good bearing manufacturing theoretical knowledge.
- Basic lean production knowledge.
- Good Project management skills and communication skills.
