Location: Timken, Tyger River Plant - Union, South Carolina.
Job Type: Full-time.
Shift: Day Shift.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

Position Summary:
- Develops and verifies process prints for new orders, and ensures compliance with corporate product prints.
- Trains other employees in process print calculations and layouts.
- Provides support on capital projects for process improvements and shop floor engineering:

- Plans, coordinates and executes projects to ensure they are completed on-time, within scope and budget.
- Leads projects in cost reduction, tooling process improvements & management, and tooling cost savings.

- Assists the plant in all areas of manufacturing.
- Collaborates with Product Managers, Plant Management, Maintenance, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain.
- Provides engineering support to other plants, when needed.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Detailed knowledge of current engineering practices and procedures.
- Ability to create process print packages for new bearing designs, including:

- Independent evaluation, application, and selection of currently accepted engineering tool & gauge design practices.
- Sound judgment in consistently manufacturing adaptations and modifications to existing designs.
- Design of new & improved components for bearing manufacturing.
- Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes to reduce manufacturing costs by providing efficient designs for components & assemblies:

- Develop designs to improve productivity and quality.
- Ability to work independently, and also on a team, to achieve required results & goals.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems to support continuous improvement and reduce operating costs.
- Manage projects - build the business case, obtain quotes, set-up contractors, and launch assets for production.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing areas - including trouble-shooting tooling, production variances, process print discrepancies, machine issues, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field, with 1 year of process engineering experience in bearing manufacturing (or metal working industry) including:

- Engineering techniques (UniGraphics, SolidWorks, CAD, Creo, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and SAP).
- Technical problem-solving - product changes for Design for Manufacturability and complex technical problems.
- Project management – experience managing technical projects.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes in heavy industry: turning, milling, grinding, heat treating, and assembly.
This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
