Timken Belts, located in Springfield, MO, is searching for a Development Engineer.

Position Summary: 

In this role you will evaluate specifications and electrical requirements, design/modify electrical circuits and layout drawings for machine and control panels, produce electrical bill of materials for parts on machines and in control panels and design/modify PLC and appropriate software for manufactured production machines.

 

 

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Designing, implementing, maintaining and improving electrical products and systems.
  • Using engineering software and equipment for computer-aided design and other complex technical tasks
  • Establishing and enforcing construction, manufacturing and installation standards.
  • Performing feasibility studies for industrial and commercial technical developments.
  • Overseeing maintenance, inspection and system upgrade programs.
  • Calculating project costs and delivery timelines.
  • Providing quality assurance for ongoing projects
  • Collaborating with clients and other professionals.
  • Writing reports, giving presentations and meeting with clients and management.

 

Technical/Functional Skills Required:

  • Project management skills
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.
  • Ability to make fact-based recommendations for technical applications
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing facility

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Broad Familiarity with electrical manufacturing processes. Belt/Rubber knowledge is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles or other Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Electrical Engineering experience 3 years preferred.  

 

 

 

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
