We are seeking a Labourer in our machine shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassembly of large industrial bearings
• Bearing repair assessments
• Grinding and polishing of bearing components
• Assembly of repaired bearings
• Assist machinists and mechanics by cleaning machines, parts, and areas
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineered drawings
• Run variety of machines including slotters and hob sharpening machines
• Understand tool limitations and controls during operation
• Operate machines within tight tolerances and knowledge of feeds and speeds
• Measure precisely utilizing calipers and maintaining specifications
• Operate overhead crane and forklift
• Maintain equipment and ensures work area is clean and safe at all times.
• Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects under the direction of the team leader.

This position will include on-the-job training for all machines and tasks the successful candidate is unfamiliar with.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude and industrial experience.

Education

• High school education or G.E.D

Competencies

• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
• Mechanical inclination
• Aptitude for working with hand and power tools, equipment, and machines
• Reliable track record at previous employment
