At Standard Machine we design and manufacture high-quality parts for critical industries including pulp and paper, mining, oil and gas, chemical processing plants, steel mills, marine applications, transportation, military, and aerospace.
Reporting to the Planning and Inside Sales Manager, the Customer Service Analyst responsibilities include managing customer requirements, company manufacturing capabilities and company cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Relationship Management and Satisfaction:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for sales managers; understand unique customer requirements; proactively communicate order status and resolve issues to maintain high satisfaction.
- Quote-to-Order Lifecycle Ownership:
- Coordinate jobs from quote through order entry, considering production tracking, shipments, and final reporting; maintain accuracy in Epicor and documentation.
- Pricing and Margin Stewardship:
- Recommend margins aligned to market conditions and cost impacts; review pricing to meet margin targets; alert management to variances and cost overruns through PDR review
- Contract and PO Review:
- Validate alignment of customer POs/contracts with quotes, scope, terms, pricing, delivery, and warranty; identify exceptions or risks; update Epicor and notify stakeholders.
- Growth and Diversification Enablement:
- Provide timely product information, quotes, and capability updates; educate external sales on target markets and Standard Machine differentiators; support penetration of new accounts/sectors.
- Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Collaborate with engineering, production, , estimating, and AR to resolve technical, cost, schedule, and billing issues;
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate possesses the following education and competencies.
Education
- Minimum 5+ years direct trade or industrial experience, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment.
- Previous customer service or administrative roles will be considered an asset.
Competencies
- Basic Understanding of machining including boring mills, lathes, hobbers, slotters, grinders, etc.
- Understanding of gearing, gear boxes, and related operations
- General knowledge of welding, heat treat, industrial painting, and material handling
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills including conflict resolution skills
- Deadline-oriented and strong attention to detail
- Accurate task completion with ability review and check own work
- Strong organizational and project planning ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
- Proficiency with Epicor or comparable ERP system
