Position Summary:
The Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to both Production and Lean Manufacturing areas, ensuring operational excellence across the plant.
This role oversees the coordination of people, materials, and equipment to optimize manufacturing processes, guarantee compliance with safety and environmental standards, and achieve production goals while meeting or exceeding quality requirements. Additionally, the Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, TMOS/SC’s, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping) and fosters a Lean culture to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and strengthen responsiveness to customer demands. Through effective leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams, this position promotes a unified approach aligned with corporate standards, ensuring sustainable growth and competitiveness.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Safety and Compliance Leadership: Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by implementing best practices, risk control, and adherence to company policies.
- Operational Management and Continuous Improvement: Oversee and optimize daily manufacturing operations, driving efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet or exceed approved process control plans and quality standards.
- Production Planning and Execution: Develop and execute production plans, allocate resources, set priorities, monitor progress, and resolve issues to minimize delays and bottlenecks.
- Talent Management and Workforce Development: Career development strategies to build a skilled and engaged workforce.
- Lean Problem-Solving Expertise: Apply structured methodologies such as A3, 5C, and Root Cause Analysis to resolve process and equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Continuous Improvement Projects: Drive plant CI roadmap through Lean, Six Sigma, and quick-win projects to achieve breakthrough performance.
- KPI Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report key metrics: Safety, Quality, Scrap, OEE, Schedule Adherence, and others.
- Productivity and Efficiency Optimization: Develop strategies to enhance plant productivity, reduce waste, and improve equipment reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful execution of improvement projects.
Basic Qualifications:
Required – Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 9+ years’ experience in Manufacturing process.
Preferred Technical / Functional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, standards, and Lean principles (Kaizen, 5S, A3, VSM).
- Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English (written & verbal) including the ability to present to all levels of management and customer personnel with clear articulation of subject matter.
- Strong analytical and computer skills with working knowledge of SAP.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing lean manufacturing practices.
- Experienced in planning and executing CI initiatives and workplace organization systems
- Demonstrated problem solving skills in manufacturing operations.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
