Position Summary:
Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting customer-required product data to support a high-volume new part introduction (NPI) and production ramp for aerospace parts. This role coordinates across Sales, Program Management, Engineering, and customer representatives to ensure PPAP/Statistical FAIR data integrity, timely portal submissions, and compliance with AS9100/ISO/NADCAP requirements. Strong technical drawing interpretation, quality-tool proficiency, and effective customer communication skills are required.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Timken Sales, Program Management, AE, and Design Engineering to understand customer and program requirements.
- Lead collection and analysis of customer-required PPAP and Statistical FAIR data (including capability studies at 1.67 CPK where applicable).
- Coordinate data flow with production to ensure timely and accurate sample collection and submission.
- Enter and maintain customer data in customer portals; manage follow-up requests and clarifications.
- Support NPI quality planning: review prints, define measurement/control points, and update control plans and FMEAs as needed.
- Carry out audits and ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001/NADCAP requirements.
- Apply problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Pareto) and support corrective actions.
- Ensure safe launch protocols and documentation during ramp-up activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing quality role, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with customer portals and electronic submissions.
- Prior work in high-mix, low-volume or high-mix, ramp-up manufacturing.
- Experience with statistical software (Minitab, JMP, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with quality core tools: FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP requirements.
- Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong data analysis and statistical capability; experience with capability studies and statistical reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; skill in customer interactions.
- Auditing experience and ability to evaluate process compliance.
This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).
