Location: Timken, Rutherfordton, NC
Shift/Schedule: (1) Night Shift 11:00pm - 7:00am & (2) Afternoon Shift 3:00pm - 11:00pm
Job Purpose: This position performs initial (face) grinding, slotting, and final finish grinding for bearing assemblies.
Job Essentials
- Safety - daily participation and involvement in individual and team safety responsibilities such as Behavior based Safety, housekeeping practices, chemical labeling, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all work instructions and training documents for set-up and operation of each specific grinding and slotting machine.
- Obtain required prints and parts for grinding and slotting operation.
- Verify part types are correct prior to each operation.
- Perform the set-up for each machine per specific work instructions and training documents for those machines.
- Perform quality checks to assure machine is set up properly.
- Perform grinding and slotting operation per specific work instructions and training documents for each machine and bearing type.
- Perform quality inspections of parts after each grinding and slotting operation.
- Close out parts by signing routing slip and giving back to Clean Room.
- Perform all required documentation.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be eligible to work in the US
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with grind, measurement instruments, tooling, and set-up
- Problem-solving and trouble-shooting ability
- Attention to detail and work accuracy
- Teamwork skills
This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
