Build Solutions That Keep Industry Moving

Join Timken’s Lubrication Systems team as an Application Engineer supporting OEM customers. In this highly collaborative role, you will translate customer needs into practical, reliable automatic lubrication solutions. You will partner with sales, engineering, customers, and suppliers from initial concept through implementation—helping improve equipment performance, reliability, and customer value.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary technical partner for OEM lubrication-system opportunities, connecting customers with sales, marketing, engineering, and suppliers.
  • Evaluate customer applications and develop fit-for-purpose solutions, including system designs, bills of material, schematics, manuals, and technical proposals.
  • Manage multiple customer and product-development projects from requirements gathering through successful completion.
  • Provide technical guidance to sales teams, support customer presentations, and help identify new business opportunities.
  • Lead design reviews and adjust solutions as machine designs, operating conditions, or system requirements evolve.
  • Support product training, field installations, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with global teams to improve products, technical literature, and application knowledge.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings and industry events as needed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least three years of experience in application engineering, mechanical design, industrial engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Experience interpreting technical data and developing mechanical or industrial equipment solutions.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software; Autodesk Inventor and/or Creo experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of hydraulics, machining processes, engineering standards, and project execution.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to organize priorities and move multiple projects forward with attention to detail and accountability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Three or more years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with industrial lubrication systems, OEM applications, product management, or customer-focused technical sales support.

How You’ll Succeed

You will combine technical judgment with a customer-first mindset. The strongest candidates are collaborative, adaptable, curious, and comfortable moving between detailed engineering work, project coordination, and direct customer interaction. Success in this role means delivering practical solutions quickly, communicating clearly, and following through on commitments.
