Position Summary
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the organization’s sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and managing a high-performing sales team. This role oversees sales operations, forecasting, performance metrics, and strategic planning to ensure the company meets or exceeds its sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify new market opportunities and expand the company’s customer base.
- Set long-term sales goals, budgets, and revenue targets.
Sales Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop sales managers and representatives.
- Establish performance metrics and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new sales team members.
- Foster an accountable, goal-driven, and collaborative team culture.
Revenue Growth & Sales Execution
- Drive sales activities to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Monitor sales pipeline health and manage accurate forecasting.
- Analyze sales performance data and adjust strategy as needed.
- Support major customer negotiations and key account management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing to optimize lead generation, market positioning, and messaging.
- Collaborate with Product teams to communicate customer needs and industry trends.
- Work with Finance to develop pricing strategies and revenue projections.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
- 7–10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience. Preferred experience in Robotics, Industrial Motion, Actuators.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, D365, HubSpot, etc.) and sales-enablement tools.
- Experience building and managing high-performing, metrics-driven sales teams.
