The Opportunity: 

The Timken Company is seeking a Data Scientist to join our HR Analytics team. We are looking for a multi-skilled analytics person that can do everything from metrics to complex analysis, through the lens of systemic thinking, while applying an understanding of a global workforce.

As a valued member on our HR Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing the power of data to drive actionable insights, optimize processes, and fuel innovation across the organization.

 

The Basics:

  • Interact with our globally integrated SAP/SuccessFactors suite.
  • Design and implement interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI to visualize key HR metrics and trends for stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Utilize advanced statistics to conduct ad-hoc analysis and uncover actionable insights that inform talent acquisition, retention, and development strategies.
  • Design and develop predictive models to forecast employee turnover, identify high-potential talent, and optimize workforce allocation.
  • Maintain an optimized data warehouse to enable efficient analytics processes.
  • Implement automation solutions using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate to streamline HR processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data integrity.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners, talent acquisition, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop customized analytics solutions.
  • Create, maintain, and ensure quality and integrity of key HR data sets.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in people analytics, AI, and HR technology, and make recommendations for leveraging new tools and techniques.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders through clear and compelling presentations and reports.

 

To Be Successful You Will Need:

  • BS in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields with relevant work experience and at least 3 years of data analytics experience
  • OR a MS degree and at least 2 years of data analytics experience 
  • Advanced skills in data mining and manipulation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, AI/ML, Microsoft Power Automate, Minitab.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience collaborating with teams and solutions to enable project completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully handle competing priorities & deliverables in a fast-paced, dead-line oriented environment.
