Purpose:
This role integrates and expands Timken’s non-destructive evaluation (NDE) capabilities for aerospace products, ensures NADCAP compliance, and supports regional business units by standardizing, training, certifying, and auditing suppliers and internal plants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and execution of NADCAP audits and related corrective actions.
- Provide metallurgical/NDE support and lead problem-solving during high-fallout events.
- Serve as regional NDE SME: develop SOPs, train/mentor staff, and audit external vendors.
- Represent Timken in customer audits and align internal standards with industry requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate NDE equipment; manage spare parts and lab records.
- Produce regular technical and calibration reports; drive NDE-related innovation and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, 5S, PSI, and company ethics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 3 years NDE experience (ECT, MPI, UT); 7+ years preferred.
- ASNT/NAS410 Level III in NDE disciplines preferred.
- Six Sigma/DFSS training (Green/Black Belt) preferred.
- Strong technical writing, training, and problem-solving skills; proactive and detail-oriented.
This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
