The Opportunity: 

The Timken Company is seeking an Engineer with analytical skills and good management of IT systems to join our Product & Projects Portfolio Management team. We are looking for a multi-skilled analytics engineer that can do everything from metrics to complex analysis, through the lens of systemic thinking, while applying an understanding of global product and manufacturing process operation.

As a valued member on our Product & Process Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing the power of data to drive actionable insights, streamline decision-making, and drive growth across the organization.

 

The Basics:

  • Interact with our globally integrated ERP (SAP) and Engineering Platforms (Teamcenter, CAD, etc.).
  • Design and implement interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI to visualize key product, processes and market metrics and trends for stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Utilize advanced statistics to conduct ad-hoc analysis and uncover actionable insights that inform product strategies.
  • Design and develop predictive models to forecast demand, product vitality, growth opportunities, and optimize project definition and resource allocation for execution.
  • Maintain an optimized data warehouse to enable efficient analytics processes.
  • Implement automation solutions using IT tools to streamline product and program management processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data integrity.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to execute corporate projects.
  • Create, maintain, and ensure quality and integrity of key Product Pipeline data sets.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in product analytics, AI, and Engineering technology, and make recommendations for leveraging new tools and techniques.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders through clear and compelling presentations and reports.

 

To Be Successful You Will Need:

  • BS in Engineering, Business, Mathematics, Data Science or related fields with relevant work experience in engineering environments and at least 3 years of technical data analytics experience.
  • Advanced skills in data mining and manipulation.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation.
  • Experience with SAP or Teamcenter, Microsoft Power BI, and AI/ML.
  • Project management experience.
  • Logical, process-oriented thinking.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to derive insight.
  • Experience collaborating with teams and solutions to enable project completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully handle competing priorities & deliverables in a fast-paced, dead-line oriented environment.
  • This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).  Eligible candidates are US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
