Purpose: The HR Data Scientist will combine advanced analytics with technical expertise to transform HR data into meaningful insights that drive strategic workforce decisions. This role will not only design predictive and prescriptive models but also partner with data engineering resources to optimize data pipelines, ensure data quality, and support seamless integration of HR data into enterprise data platforms. The position sits within the HR Systems team, ensuring that HR data science is closely aligned with business priorities and future-ready technology initiatives.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Data Architecture & Pipeline Development
  • Prepare, cleanse, and transform HR data for modeling and analytics.
  • Design and maintain reusable HR datasets to support reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
  • Contribute to automation of HR reporting and analytics workflows.
  • Partner with data engineering resources to optimize HR data pipelines and integrations Develop data models and ensure integration of HR data into enterprise-wide reporting and analytics.
  • Implement best practices for data storage, processing, and scalability.

 

  • Data Quality, Security & Compliance
  • Establish data validation, cleansing, and monitoring processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of HR data.
  • Maintain compliance with global HR regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and internal audit requirements.
  • Implement and monitor data governance and security standards.

 

  • Innovation & Enablement
  • Partner with HR and IT teams to identify opportunities for automation, AI enablement, and advanced analytics.
  • Drive innovation by exploring emerging data technologies and recommending adoption strategies.
  • Develop predictive, prescriptive, and statistical models for HR use cases.
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure HR data can be effectively leveraged by analysts, data scientists, and business users.

 

  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
  • Work closely with HRIS, HR Analytics, and IT to align data strategies and ensure interoperability of systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and function as a subject matter expert on HR data engineering.
  • Support reporting teams by enabling access to curated, trusted HR datasets.

 

Qualifications and Functional Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of relative experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred, with 3+ years of relative experience.
  • Strong experience with data pipeline development and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Firsthand experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipeline development & deployment), Databricks, and cloud-based data engineering tools.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, database design, data lakehouse concepts, and data warehousing best practices.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and security standards.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and data, ideally SAP SuccessFactors or comparable HCM platforms.
  • Ability to translate HR process knowledge into data engineering solutions.
  • Exposure to Power BI or other business intelligence tools (preferred, not required).
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering, forecasting).
  • Experience enabling data availability for analytics and reporting teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to translate technical results into business insights.
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset to work across HR, IT, and enterprise data teams
