This position will provide comprehensive legal guidance and support with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, SEC and NYSE reporting obligations, and/or supporting the Company’s finance, tax and treasury function. 

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, practical, and innovative legal counsel to business units and corporate functions to support the Company's objectives. Areas of focus include mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate governance, corporate finance, tax, and other substantive legal areas as needed.
  • Interpret and apply laws and regulations across the jurisdictions in which the Company conducts business.
  • Monitor evolving legal and regulatory trends in relevant functional areas, advise leadership on potential risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Evaluate the need for legal training and design (with particular focus on securities, governance and antitrust), implement and conduct training for Company employees as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the Law Center by actively participating in its mission, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and building strong relationships across all levels of the Company.

 

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) with a minimum of 2 years legal experience
  • Licensed attorney in good standing in Ohio or a state that Ohio recognizes for its Corporate license 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong client service orientation and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Business acumen a plus
  • Large national or international law firm or in-house experience a plus
  • Experience in the following areas is a plus: M&A , working with international clients, supporting finance functions and providing counsel directly to client’s senior management
