We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely on new project launches and process improvements at our Timken Aurora Bearing facility. You will drive efficiency enhancements, workflow optimizations, and system improvements to achieve goals, working in conjunction with multiple operations support teams.
Senior Manufacturing Engineer Essential Responsibilities:
- Engineering Problem Solving: Provide innovative solutions to engineering challenges in production, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Equipment Design and Modification: Design new machinery and modify existing equipment to enhance production capabilities and efficiency.
- Supplier Management and Technology Integration: Identify and engage with contractors and suppliers to implement new technologies and cost-effective solutions. Manage supplier relationships and integrate product information into Timken databases.
- Project Management: Lead and coordinate large-scale projects, delegating tasks to engineers, analysts, and contractors. Manage project budgets and expenses while implementing new technologies at the Aurora Bearing Plant.
- Continuous Improvement: Define and champion continuous improvement projects across all production areas. Collaborate with production associates to implement process enhancements and efficiency gains.
- Cost Reduction Initiatives: Develop cost-saving ideas and lead projects aimed at reducing operational expenses at the Aurora plant.
- Process Engineering and Optimization: Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products to achieve optimal cost and quality standards. Responsible for process engineering, industrial engineering, tooling/equipment procurement, waste reduction, and troubleshooting.
- Lean Manufacturing: Lead the launch and continuous improvement activities, applying lean manufacturing principles to identify and eliminate waste systematically.
Senior Manufacturing Engineer Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or related field).
- At least 5 years of proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of managing large-scale projects from conception to implementation.
- Expertise in process engineering, equipment design, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in project budget management and supplier/vendor management.
