Purpose:

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Analyst to join our manufacturing site in Montgomery, IL. The Senior EH&S Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert in all aspects of environmental health and safety systems, regulations, and requirements. In this critical role, you will provide guidance, leadership, and expertise to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards. You will be responsible for shaping the strategy to drive continuous improvement and support our commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental footprint.

 Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in OSHA compliance, Safety, and EHS reporting.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in root cause problem-solving methodologies and corrective action development.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence, lead, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Project management skills and ability to lead a team to implement actions for improvement.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead plant efforts in achieving EHS goals, objectives, and culture change initiatives, driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Investigate EHS incidents (including injuries, near misses, and property damage) using root cause analysis techniques, ensuring corrective actions are identified, implemented, and tracked.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in the EHS management systems, and develop robust processes to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee compliance systems and maintain related documentation, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal EHS regulations, business standards, and certifications.
  • Manage plant safety programs and initiatives, including injury reporting, recordkeeping, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Identify and resolve ergonomic safety issues, while ensuring the plant’s waste management and environmental compliance obligations (air, storm water, discharge, etc.) are met.
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, Engineering, and Quality to ensure safety practices are integrated into daily tasks and production activities.
  • Lead the development and execution of ongoing role-based safety training to reduce injury incidents and near-misses, maintaining proper OJT safety records.
  • Provide direction and leadership in designing new projects, expansions, or process changes in compliance with EHS regulations and best practices.
  • Review equipment safety ratings, calibration, and assess site and personnel security, partnering with IT and management for security and loss mitigation.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives and ensure continuous growth for the organization by reducing the environmental footprint and promoting EHS best practices.

Compensation:

The annual starting salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 and is commensurate on experience and education. This full-time position is eligible to participate in the bonus program, paid time off plan, 401k, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
