Position Summary:
Timken Aurora Bearing is seeking a hands-on Quality Supervisor to lead our Receiving, Final Inspection, Metrology, and Conformity Lab teams. This role directs daily inspection operations, leads a team of quality employees, and partners with operations, purchasing, and engineering to ensure product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. The Quality Supervisor will support AS9100 audits, supplier PPAP/FAI processes, and MRB disposition activities while helping drive KPI performance.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead Receiving, Final Inspection, Metrology, and Conformity Lab employees and assign work and ensure adherence to company policies and safety requirements.
- Provide disposition for Inspection Deficiency Reports (IDRs) and manage non-conforming material through MRB and RMA processes.
- Conduct customer and supplier FAI/PPAP inspections and review supplier documentation and certifications.
- Establish and manage supplier certification based on inspection performance.
- Identify, support, and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection processes and audits.
- Perform root cause analysis using 5 Whys, 8D, or A3 to develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Act as liaison between Quality and other departments to resolve issues with work orders, POs, RTVs, and certifications.
- Track and report KPIs and area metrics; derive corrective actions as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or related field.
- At least three years of leadership experience within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerancing and quality practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with PPAP/FAI, inspection processes, MRB/RMA, and supplier quality programs.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and use corrective action tools (5Whys, 8D, A3).
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and audit processes preferred.
The starting base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 annually and is commensurate on experience and education. This position is also eligible to participate in the company's short-term incentive program.
