Material Coordinator/Local Driver Essential Responsibilities 

  • Perform all duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner with an emphasis on quality.  Follow Company and departmental procedures, including regular attendance and punctuality.  Follow all safety rules and keep work area and vehicles in a clean and orderly condition. Report any unusual conditions or situations to Lead Person or Supervisor.
  • Drive Company vehicles to and from suppliers to pick up and deliver parts and supplies as assigned.
  • Load and unload vehicles using necessary equipment.  Get assistance if necessary.
  • Make physical and visual inspections of vehicle to be used (truck, forklift, power pallet lifter, etc.). Make necessary adjustments and fill out required paperwork.
  • Report any unusual conditions during operation of all vehicles and report necessary maintenance to Lead Person or Supervisor.
  • Report any unusual conditions at any outside suppliers to Lead person or Supervisor.
  • Pack and/or weigh parts going out to suppliers.
  • Maintain all vehicle fluid levels.
  • Perform any in shop functions when all required duties are completed as directed by Lead person or Supervisor.
  • Safely operate powered fork trucks and lifts.
  • Operate all electronic scales.
  • Perform cycle counts periodically to maintain control of inventory counts throughout the year.
  • Work with Production Control to coordinate components for work orders that are released for staging, including reporting FCN (traceability) to Production Planning for work order creation using FIFO practice.
  • Receive parts for storage, distribute parts to their proper place on a shelf, at a machine, or staging area; and return overpull material back to stock.
  • Review all paperwork upon completion.
  • Fill production work orders.
  • Work with sawing, turning, and grinding machinery.
  • Assist operators in lifting or moving parts.

 

General Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary or trades / technical education and certifications preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and shop math competencies
  • Strong ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Up to date and valid automobile insurance
  • Clean Driving Record

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $17.50 -$19.29 per hour and is commensurate on experience and education. This full-time position is eligible to participate in the paid time off plan, 401k, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
