Timken Aurora Bearing Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic that will perform a variety of functions to maintain and repair equipment, and our building and grounds while adhering to the safety, quality and productivity standards of Timken Aurora Bearing Company.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner with an emphasis on quality. Follow Company and departmental procedures, including regular attendance and punctuality. Follow all safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Report any unusual conditions or situations to Lead Person or Supervisor.
- Responsible for cleanliness of plant and grounds including sweeping, cleaning out and refilling eyeglass and eyewash stations, trash removal, trimming bushes, pulling weeds, cleaning out fence line, snow removal, sand/salt drive and parking areas and general plant painting and aisle striping. Plant area's involve unassigned work areas throughout the plant.
- Water filter maintenance
- Paper / cardboard collection and recycle.
- Waste oil / coolant collection and removal
- Install and maintain light bulbs and fixtures and air circulating fans.
- Clean air pollution equipment and filters used on production equipment.
- Make physical and visual inspections of vehicle to be used (truck, forklift, power pallet lifter, etc.). Make necessary adjustments and fill out required paperwork.
- Report any unusual conditions during operation of all vehicles and report necessary maintenance to Lead Person or Supervisor
- Delivery / pickup of product or purchased items to support production or services.
- Maintain equipment used in the performance of job functions and inventory painting supplies, lighting supplies, janitorial products, and supplies for eyeglass stations.
- Monthly inspection of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and eye wash stations.
- Coordinate pickup and loading of scrap metal, cardboard, electronic waste, and similar items with vendors.
- Basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirments:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to stand and walk 8 or more hours per day.
- Forklift and scissor lift experience preferred but will train.
- Ability to work from ladders or platforms.
- Basic carpentry skills including but not limited to: painting, electrical, and mechanical skills

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $18.50 - 20.50 per hour and is commensurate on experience and education. This full-time position is eligible to participate in the paid time off plan, 401k, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
