Job Summary
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing, analyzing, and optimizing inventory levels to support efficient operations and cost control. This role monitors stock movements, forecasts demand, and ensures accurate reporting across supply chain systems. The analyst works closely with purchasing, production, engineering, and logistics teams to maintain optimal stock levels, prevent shortages or overages, and improve inventory accuracy.
This position plays a critical role in supporting the receipt of materials and managing inventory for lubrication pump production. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SAP, particularly in inventory management and cycle counting practices, along with a passion for data-driven process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory records using SAP
- Performing SAP-recommended cycle counts and initiating random cycle counts based on operational need
- Receiving and verifying incoming materials, ensuring proper documentation and system entry
- Identifying and investigating inventory discrepancies, resolving issues through data analysis and coordination with relevant departments
- Managing material movements and storage to support production needs and improve inventory flow
- Assisting with inventory reconciliation efforts and preparing for physical inventory counts
- Generating and analyzing inventory reports to track trends and recommend improvements
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts related to warehouse organization, inventory control, and material handling
- Collaborating with Purchasing, Production, and Quality teams to align inventory with production schedules and minimize shortages or overages
- Adhering to company policies and safety regulations while contributing to a lean and efficient warehouse environment
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control or materials management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with SAP inventory modules (WM or IM)
Skills & Knowledge
- Familiarity with ERP systems, SAP preferred.
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing list.
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organization abilities.
Other
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain is required.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse best practices preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, or weekends if needed.
