Purpose:
The Leadsperson – Quality, in the respective area or process, will be responsible to lead hourly team associates’ by coordinating activities and verification, including on the job training and work instructions for Quality Department in an efficient and timely manner to meet department goals.
Major business aspects include scheduling, ensure on time delivery to internal/external customers, leading associates; while maintaining the premises in a clean and orderly manner, obtaining and maintaining shop metrics, initiating purchase requisitions for stock as required, identifying continuous improvement and cost reduction tactics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review production schedules and estimates labor hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Interpret/adjust schedules and manning as required to meet expected goals. Communicate daily expectations with staff
- This position will support continuous improvements in matters concerning the Quality Department in terms of procedures, equipment, and supplies
- Ensures that all work activities are properly performed in accordance with work instructions and procedures to meet customer requirements
- Responsible for on-the-job training of associates on matters concerning inspection
- Safety and Housekeeping - provide a clean and safe work environment for associates. Adhere to Timken safety standards and OSHA regulations. Take corrective action to replace and/or repair safety hazards. Train and counsel associates on safe work procedures concerning equipment, hazardous chemical (SDS), fire equipment, lifting, etc.
- Work with Engineering Department in support of repair development projects
- Support Quality to ensure warranty returns and first articles are completed in a timely manner
- Proficiently skilled and knowledgeable with all measuring equipment
- Performing daily LPA’s within the Quality inspection department
- Supporting and mentoring associates
- Communicating and providing feedback at daily fast response meetings
- Maintain the integrity of the quality systems use in the production facility, and support audits both internal and external.
- Providing the necessary technical assistance for the selection, justification and purchase of new equipment and components
- Additional duties may be assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma with 7+ years’ experience with overhaul and repair/quality inspection experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals
- Ability to read & interpret technical documents, specifically electrical and engineering diagrams is preferred
- Solid knowledge of computer aided design is preferred, able to interpret blueprint and schematics is a plus
- Strong inspection skills particularly with complex bearing inspection techniques
- Thorough familiarity with ISO9001 requirements and FAA regulations with emphasis in repair station
Pay Range: $29 - $40 p/h
