Position Summary:

 

This position manages the full scope of the Packaged Bearing Department from raw material through customer satisfaction to achieve and/or exceed business plan goals.  
The incumbent is responsible for the operation over multiple shifts through the performance and development of salaried and hourly direct reports.   
  

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive change by using lean principles to compress lead time, reduce inventory, and reduce total cost.  Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes utilizing 5S, lean foundational training, just in time tools, kaizen tools, and lean operating system.

 

  • Achieve key performance indicators for the department.

 

  • Develop production teams through consistent guidance, strong vision, and KPI oriented leadership to achieve optimal performance results.  Maintain regular contact with associates with a defined communication plan.  Mentor and develop associates.  Foster positive associate relations by offering opportunity, accountability, and performance talent management.

  

  • Develop and execute EHS tactics to meet goals set forth in business plan.

  

  • Manage external relationships in partnership with Supply Chain for all related direct material suppliers.  Develop and implement effective supplier metrics.  Develop plans and actions to drive supplier improvement processes.

  

  • Develop and execute tactics to maintain fixed costs per the business plan objectives. Identify and implement structural changes to improve productivity, fixed and variable business expenses.  Achieve productivity goals by focusing on manpower scheduling, inventory levels, set up times, using lean thinking, tools and techniques.

  

  • Utilize the full capabilities of SAP to manage excellent customer service performance. 

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing.



Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Masters degree

 

  • Strong leadership and decision making capabilities.

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

  • Strong analytical skills with strong computer skills & knowledge of SAP, MRP, and ERP systems.

 

  • Demonstrated skills in teaching, coaching and training others.

 

  • Strong knowledge in Lean basics.
