Purpose & Scope:
The Ring Finishing Cell Technician is a CNC machine operator position. This position utilizes the operator’s skills and knowledge to perform and maintain all manufacturing processes efficiently within the Ring Finishing Cell to produce aerospace bearings.
Core Functions:
- Perform manufacturing processes including the setup and operation of CNC grinding, turning, and honing machines as well as other ancillary equipment in the area.
- Inspect manufactured components for conformance to specifications using bench and electronic gauging.
- Ensure that standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work including machine setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and enhance machinery performance to prevent machine downtime.
- Document and communicate manufacturing performance issues to maintain continuity between shifts and decrease machine downtime.
- Act as a role model, coach and trainer for new associates to foster a team environment.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Support improvement projects as assigned.
General Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Basic mathematical and mechanical skills are required.
- Basic computer interface skills are required.
- Strong attention to detail along with the ability to multi-task and coordinate work activities to be efficient and productive is required.
- Strong ability to follow written and prescribed work instructions/procedures and tasks.
- Strong ability to read and interpret specifications, acceptance criteria, and engineering drawings.
- Situational/Spatial awareness along with strict adherence to PPE/safety protocols is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Use of hands, legs, both near/far vision and hearing test. Must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 35 pounds. Requires extensive periods of walking and standing.
