Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a detailed Master Production Schedule (MPS) that balances customer demand, inventory targets, and available capacity in a low-volume, high-mix aerospace manufacturing environment. The scheduler uses SAP and other planning tools to drive weekly execution schedules, long-term capacity planning, and material alignment. Continuous improvement of the tools and methods used to plan is expected. The role requires strong cross-functional coordination with Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to ensure timely and cost-effective fulfillment of customer requirements.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Master Production Schedule (MPS) that aligns customer demand with available capacity, material availability, and production constraints.

 

  • Release and manage production orders, converts planned orders into executable schedules, and addresses exception messages to ensure smooth execution.

 

  • Monitor schedule attainment, coordinates recovery plans for at-risk orders, and ensures alignment with government-rated (DPAS) and FAIR-driven requirements.

 

  • Collaborates closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to validate capacity assumptions, adjust work center availability, and proactively resolve bottlenecks.

 

  • Analyze shortages, re-plan as needed, and manage excess or obsolete materials based on assembly summaries and demand changes.

 

  • Maintain accurate planning data in SAP, regularly updates master data such as lead times and lot sizes and utilizes Excel and other tools for demand and inventory analysis.

 

  • Participates in the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) and weekly supply review processes.

 

  • Partner with Customer Service and Program Management to support delivery commitments and proactively communicate risks.

 

  • Drive continuous improvement within the scheduling process, contributing to system enhancements, planning automation efforts, and strategic planning projects focused on improving delivery performance and inventory optimization.

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor degree of Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other technical.

 

  • 3 years ERP/MRP experience.

 

  • 6 months of SAP experience in OTC, MM or PTP.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills: 

 

  • Masters degree of Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other technical.

 

  • APICS Certification.

 

  • Experience in data-mining and analysis (Excel, SAP, Access/Brio Queries).

 

  • Strong communication and team skills.

 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

  • Master production scheduling experience.

 

 

This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).
