Timken Power Systems, Philadelphia Gear brand has a current opening for a Supply Chain Analyst to provide primary Supply Chain expertise & analytical support to the Supply Chain Manager of Timken Power Systems group, which includes Timken Gears & Services and Timken Motors & Services and related businesses.


The secondary role of this position is to serve as the administrative point of contact and action coordinator, for both external and internal stakeholders, for the management of the approved supplier base and for compliance with overarching requirements such as ISO, FAR, and SOX.  This position also serves as an alternate for the Customer Service / Supply Chain analyst position.

 

Responsibilities include:
•    Conduct monthly reporting of status and metrics of the Supply Chain organization within Timken Power Systems (TPS) group.  
•    Generate and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Supply Chain organizations of TPS, including these SOPs’ compliance with ISO, SOX and/or FAR requirements.
•    Execute internal and external Supplier Performance Reporting, Analysis, Corrective Actions or Recognitions as deemed necessary to maintain a Supplier Base that is meeting established benchmarks of performance.  These benchmarks may be subject to ISO and/or FAR compliancy or influence.
•    Carry out the integration of Approved Supplier Base management within the Timken Powers Systems ERP System (EPICOR).  Implement and integrate any Contractual Agreements that may be entered into by Timken Power Systems.
•    Implement Timken Corporate Supplier Agreements for both Direct and Indirect Materials and/or Services within the Timken Gears and Services and Timken Motor Companies of Timken Power Systems.
•    Assist with the administration of any contractual agreement that may be negotiated with Suppliers on behalf of Timken Power Systems group for Direct or Indirect Materials or Services.  Assist with oversight and required approvals of any contractual agreements for Direct and Indirect Materials and/or Services that may be made by any of the regional facilities of companies within Timken Power Systems group.
•    Support coordination with all other Supply Chain Management activities that may be undertaken within the companies of Timken Power Systems group.
•    Provide administrative support for the Professional Development for all members of the Supply Chain organizations of the companies of Timken Power Systems group. 
•    Carry out the tactical procurement activities for the King of Prussia headquarters location. Plan, negotiate, buy and expedite service and material requirements for each order with both outside vendors and internal resources.
•    Ensure consistent cross regional pricing is applied to quotes using history.
•    Provide administrative support for the research and develop new sources of supply as necessary both domestically and globally, particularly in support of the service centers Center of Excellence responsibilities which includes supporting corporate inventory stocking programs related to COE.
•    Buy materials within cost estimate and delivered on time. Raise RFQ’s, PO’s and maintain purchase history.
•    Assist with coordination of supplier visits, identify new sources, maximize supplier performance, and reduce over time the number of vendors as required.
•    Support the oversight of physical inventory and cycle counting plus stock room oversight, safety stock management and limiting obsolete inventory.
•    Create and enter Purchase Orders.
•    Perform cross-training and provide backup support for the Customer Service / Supply Chain analyst position.

 

Basic Qualifications:
•    Associate's degree in business-related field required, bachelor's degree preferred

•    Minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain with 3 years of inventory management experience
•    Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze and interpret data
•    Direct experience in supply chain responsibilities – sourcing, planning, inventory mgmt., etc.

•    Strong communication skills (verbal & written) and teamwork approach
•    Skilled in all basic MS Office products and working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Epicor)
•    Cognitive ability and inclination to solve problems and will recommend specific and innovative changes to effect improved efficiencies

•    Ability to manage and monitor site inventory and its efficient use     
•    Flexibility in Customer Service and Supply Chain functional areas, for cross-functional support

 

 

This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).  Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations.
