Timken Power Systems (TPS) has a current opening for a Chief Electrical Engineer to lead the company’s core competency of applying electrical engineering to design, application and repair of AC and DC electric motor/generators/controls and other electrical power transmission equipment.
The incumbent of this position is primarily responsible for leadership of both the central (directly) and decentralized (indirectly) engineering teams of the company as well as the continuous improvement of the design engineering processes of the company. In support of these competencies the incumbent is expected to maintain oversight of all the company’s engineering resources to achieve maximum leverage from our investment in technology, in support of serving our target markets (energy and defense) and ensure creation and compliance high internal PG quality standards. This position requires travel to TPS headquarters in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, regional service centers, field locations and customer facilities.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to the TPS facilities in new applications and aftermarket opportunities, specifically focused on engineered solutions, design upgrades, problem solving/trouble-shooting and development of potential motor and motor controls intellectual property (IP).
Perform failure analysis of motors, generators and other related equipment.
Develop and/or approve specifications, changes or upgrades for reverse engineered parts in motor aftermarket opportunities.
Support Customer Service teams across the TPS network in developing solutions to new power train applications consisting of motors/couplings/gear drives.
Be a steward of the company's assets, brand, reputation and investments.
Ensure that the highest ethical and commercial standards are maintained.
Manage TPS Electrical Engineering resources to support 100% on time, on specification and on budget, standard operating procedures and strategy objectives.

Skilled in all basic MS Office products and working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Epicor).
Experience in design, manufacture, testing and applications of AC and DC electric motors, Motor-Generator (MG) sets and generators and related controls primarily utilized in nuclear and fossil power generation facilities.
Familiarity with current industry standards (IEEE, NEMA, EASA, etc.)
Applicant must have 15 years of electrical engineering experience, 3 years of management experience.
Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.
