Purpose:

Co-op Students provide valuable and necessary services for Timken and provide Timken with the opportunity to contribute to the Co-op Student’s personal and professional development through challenging work assignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from part drawings, process sequence sheets and setup charts.
  • Select proper tooling, mount, dress and/or true grinding wheels where appropriate.
  • Cycle machine to produce test pieces, check parts and make machine adjustments as necessary.
  • Inspect components to insure proper adherence to quality specifications.
  • Gage components using applicable gaging techniques and procedures, check gages for proper calibration using gage masters and adjust as necessary.
  • Assemble components in a clean room environment.
  • Visually sample pieces for finish and surface quality.
  • Report all operating difficulties to the appropriate supervisor; maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintain and comply with process documentation.
     

Basic Qualifications:

The basic qualifications that candidates must possess to be considered for Timken’s Co-op Program are as follows:

  • Must be in a local Technical School in a program with a focus on manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated success in achieving goals
