Position Summary:
Timken is seeking a dedicated and skilled Supply Chain Support Technician to join our Supply Chain team. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.This position supports the work of the schedulers, preparing production packets for daily distribution and learning the basic functions of production scheduling at the Lincolnton plant. The incumbent will help react to changes required to handle intercepts or adjust production schedules as needed and ensuring customer orders are met.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Scheduling: correct production orders, schedules, and resolve daily packaging / labeling problems. Perform scan order book functions. Process intercepts / expedites / customer orders. Responsible for order release and close-out. Responsible for generating and releasing manufacturing/production orders and performing basic troubleshooting. Support production and Logistics operations. Support physical inventory and OSMI activities. Research and document Schedule Accomplishment order misses.
- Production/Quality: create packets. Monitor plant hold area to address supply chain issues (pack, label errors, etc.) in a timely manner. Work closely with production and quality personnel. Responsible for assisting in communicating and executing production schedules.
- Operations: support plant assigned activities (train in problem solving, participate/assist in A3 investigations & reporting, etc.). Update supply chain metrics in the Obeya room and attend daily meetings as needed.
- SAP: correct SAP transactions. Coordinate transaction interaction between SAP and Shop Floor plant software that supports daily production. Generate and publish SAP based reports (daily packed pieces, daily schedule accomplishment, etc.).
- Create purchase orders and quality product returns.
- Collaborate with team members and management to achieve production goals.
- Follows all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with SAP and completing transactions preferred.
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
