We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Early-Career Mechanical Drafter (1–2 yrs experience) with foundational CAD exposure who is eager to grow technical skills. The ideal candidate is accountable, quality-focused, and passionate about delivering accurate drawings and documentation. This role offers hands-on training, close collaboration with Engineering and Operations, and opportunities to develop problem-solving and continuous improvement abilities.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings, subassemblies, and final assemblies per engineering requirements and company drafting standards.
  • Create and maintain parts lists/BOMs, drawing files, revision control, and pre-release documentation for customer orders.
  • Verify and check drawings, dimensions, and parts lists for accuracy.
  • Assist engineers with calculations, design documentation, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and systems development (drafting standards, parts-list systems).
  • Support production and manufacturing with technical drawing clarifications and assembly documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process effectiveness efforts to improve quality and customer service.
  • Contribute to exceptional customer experiences through accurate, timely deliverables and professional interactions.
  • Maintain clean, professional documentation and workspace; support branch/process compliance with company standards.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Formal education or cobination of educaiton and experience in drafting or mechanical engineering technology.
  • Minimum ~1–2 years mechanical drafting experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred.
  • Proficient with CAD software (or similar 2D/3D CAD tools); strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with BOM management, revision control, and drafting standards.
  • Understanding and practical use of GD&T, dimensioning standards, and fabrication/assembly drawing practices.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment on routine tasks, and escalate complex issues.
